Description
This is a 3×5 flag of the state of Maryland. The flag is black and gold and red and white. The design consists of the coat of arms of two prominent Maryland families– the Calverts (founded Maryland colony) makes up the gold and black and the red and white design is from the Crossland family (family of Lord Baltimore’s mother). The Maryland flag is one out of four US state flags that do not have the color blue (the others are Alabama, California, and New Mexico).
